U VISCUVATO - VESCOVATO

Ancient bishopric, administrative centre of the canton, its establishment goes back to the 14th century. The village has played an active role in the rich history of Corsica and has been the birthplace of various famous personalities. The baroque church, surmounted by a bell tower, houses three naves and a high altar that are richly decorated behind its classic facade. The convivial main square is shaded and is decorated by a superb fountain, topped by an Imperial eagle.
