EGLISE SAINT CEZAIRE DE TALLONE
Dating from the XVII or XVIII century, this Pisan church is dedicated to Saint-Cézaire de Terracina, an African deacon who was martyred in the 1st century. Born from a partnership with the Bishop of Saint-Césaire d?Arles fêté who is honoured here on 1st November, whilst the patron saint is celebrated here on 27th August. The courtyard of the church, made from gneiss stone, leads out onto a large and shaded square. A 4 floor belfry. High altarpiece: the Death of Saint Saint-Cézaire. According to legend, he was thrown to the sea for opposing the custom of offering human sacrifices to the God Apollo.
