CHAPELLE SAN PETRU DE PIANELLU

Situated in the hamlet of Ostricacce, this pre-Roman chapel was the parish church of Pianellu up until 1696, before the church of Sainte Cécile, further up the village, was constructed. It is also a remembrance site where, in 1703, the field of Mare e Stagnu, situated in Aleria, was donated to the commune of Pianellu. The evening before 29th June, candles are light (I Sanghuvanni) to commemorate this moment.
