CHATAIGNERAIE DE PIANELLU
The Pianellu chestnut forest is many centuries old and is maintained by the AFC (Association pour la Fondation de Corse) as part of its work to safeguard and protect rural heritage. This is Europe?s oldest chestnut plantation and covers 60 hectares with its chestnut trees that are 700 years old and have a circumference of 13m. You can also adopt a tree by donating to the TERRANEA scheme (information at the Oriente tourist office). Not sign-posted, use an IGN map.
